Dr. Cheryl S. Imbud-Chi
She is the President of Universal Eye Check Optical Corporation (UECO) established in 2012. Her preparation for her journey in the Optical service and business goes back with a background both in Accountancy and Optometry. Dr. Chi is an alumna of Adamson University where she graduated with a degree of Bachelor in Science in Accountancy in the year 1998 and pursue her Master in Business Administration in 2000.
As she was immersed in the business side of optometry, Dr. Chi became interested in the field of eye and vision care, thus she pursued the Doctor of Optometry degree in Manila Central University, when she graduated in the year 2014. It was also in the same year that she successfully passed the Optometrist Licensure Examination.
Dr. Chi is a distinguished member of the MCU College of Optometry Advisory Council and at the same time, an active member of:
- Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrist (IPAO)
- Adamson University Alumni Association|
- MCU Alumni Association
Moreover, she is Certified as first-aider, as well as safety officer. Dr. Chi is also an International Professional Body Designer in South East Asia. She had been to different countries like France, Italy, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Hongkong, China, Korea, Thailand along many others to further her knowledge in the industry and profession she has embraced.
In pursuit of her desire to engaged in the community outreaches, Dr. Chi holds the distinction as being the First Filipino Optometrist to render her professional services with Youth with a mission (YWAM), Australia.
Dr. Christine S. Rodriguez
She is the VP for Operations, an alumna of the Manila Central University. She graduated with the degree of optometry in 1990. She successfully hurdled the Optometrist Licensure Examination Given on the same year.
With Passion in teaching, she joined the faculty of the MCU College of Optometry in 1991. Her desire to stay in the academe pushed her to pursue a double Masters degree, One being Master of Arts in Education in 2001 and Master of Science in Optometry in 2004. She graduated from Manila Central University School of Graduate Studies with distinction in both programs.
Dr. Rodriguez has a special interest in the field of Low Vison Rehabilitations, Thus, She made it a point to further acquire knowledge and enhance her skills in the area. She gained her local training from Resources for the Blind, Inc. Where she volunteers her services as Consultant. Dr. Rodriguez also Pursued a six-month training at the Perkins School for the Blind in Watertown, Massachusetts in 2015 in the field of Low Vision and Multiple Disability. She also completed a program for Training of Trainers, in Perkins International Academy, Massachusetts, USA 2017
She is a Founding Fellow of the integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists, Low Vision Society, Fellow of Asia Optometric Congress, and Fellow of International Association of Contract Lens Educators. Dr. Rodriguez is Often invited to share her knowledge as lecturer or resource person in both local and international conferences.
Dr. Caroline Li. Ferrer
She is the VP for Administration, graduated from Manila Central University with the degree Doctor of Optometry in the year 1985. She passed the Optometrist Licensure Examination given in the same year.
She worked as an Optometrist in several Optometric Clinics, until she decided to join the Faculty of Optometry in MCU. As she dedicated herself to fulltime teaching, she also managed to pursue her Master of Science in Optometry from Manila Central University School of Graduate Studies in the year 1998.
As a Clinic Supervisor, Dr. Ferrer engaged in trainings in the United State of America to further gain expertise in Clinic Optometry. In 2000. she has since completed an Apprenticeship Clinical Program at Harlem Hospital Center, an affiliate of Columbia University in New York City, USA and an Internship Clinical Program in the D ‘Alberti Eye Center in New Jersey, USA in 2014. In addition, she regularly attends conferences and trainings locally and is often invited as lecturer and resource person.
Dr. Ferrer is a respected affiliate and fellow of the Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists, Low Vision Society, and the Asia Optometric Congress.
Dr. Jennifer V. Torreña
She started as one of the in-house Optometrists of UECO, before she became the Corporate Secretary. She Graduated with the degree Doctor of Optometry from Manila Central University in the year 2013. Dr. Torreña successfully passed the Optometrist Licensure last 2013, and ranked sixth in the list of topnotches.
With her unquenchable desire to always learn new things about the profession, she consistently attends local and international conferences and trainings. Dr. Torreña pursued a post graduate training in vision Therapy Basic Course and Clinical Cases given by Visual Science Institute Inc. She is an active member of Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrist, and MCU Alumni Association
Dr. Nelia R. Lozada
She is the Corporate Treasurer of UECO, Graduated from Centro Escolar University with the degree Doctor of Optometry in 1998 and passed the Optometrist Licensure Examination given on the year. She been passionately providing optometric services with more than two decades.
Dr. Lozada continuously pursues excellence in the practice of the profession as she devotes her time in learning the current issues and trends in Optometry through attending local and international conferences. Dr. Lozada is a member of Integrated Philippine Association of Optometrists and Centro Escolar University Alumni Association. Her role as the Corporate Treasurer is a key to successful financial operations of UECO.
